Gun Saves Man From Police Imposters

Something didn't add up about the two men claiming to be policemen, and Jason Daniels wouldn't answer the door. Police say Daniels' suspicions proved valid when the suspects broke into the home and tied him up. They began ransacking the home, and Daniels took the opportunity to free himself and grab a 9mm pistol from a cabinet. According to the police report, "When the suspects returned, they found Mr. Daniels armed and in a shooting stance." One of the suspects attempted to draw a revolver, and Daniels shot him. Reciprocity Laws Save Man From Robbery Attempt

A concealed-carry permit holder from Florida is fortunate thanks to reciprocity laws. Police say he was walking his dog during a trip to Missouri when two men inquired about the pet. Then one of the men pulled what looked like a pistol and demanded the man's jewelry and cash. The suspect's pistol turned out to be a BB gun, but the victim had a real gun. Couple's Assault Spree Ends With A bang

Police say a 20-year-old couple went on a weekend crime spree until their luck ran out. It started on a Saturday morning when they attacked a 92-year-old in his home and sent him to the hospital. That night, they broke into another home and assaulted the occupant before robbing her. Their rampage ended the next day when they broke into the home of Jimmy Norman and his wife. Norman retrieved a handgun and shot the male intruder twice. The injured suspect was to be charged pending his release from the hospital, and his accomplice was also apprehended. Man Saves Himself From Sledgehammer Attack

Jamie Buck was jolted awake by a loud noise. According to police, an alcohol-fueled man wielding a sledgehammer shattered a window in the side door and entered Buck's home. The suspect, whose latest release from jail was just seven weeks prior, demanded money or jewelry. Then he swung the sledgehammer at Buck, striking him in the head. Man Protects Woman and Two Children From Abusive Husband

Joshua Nicholson and his roommate were allowing Sarah Enkler and her two children to stay with them while she fled an abusive husband. Late one evening, Nicholson was jolted awake by the sound of someone breaking in through his back door. Police say he retrieved his .380-caliber pistol and walked down the hallway. When Nicholson saw the suspect entering the home, he fired a shot, causing the man to flee. The suspected invader - Enkler's husband - was arrested after seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
