Unidentified Hero Saves Woman From Terrifying Attack

Cashier Theresa Stuckey sold a woman groceries, and the next thing she knew the woman was outside pleading for her life. "She was screaming, " 'Help, he's trying to kill me!' She was rolling on the ground, trying to get out of the way, but he kept stabbing her." Terrified onlookers yelled at the man and honked their horns. Ignoring the crowd, the rampaging man poured gasoline on the woman and attempted to set her ablaze, but a passerby entered the scene armed with more than a car horn. According to a witness, the Good Samaritan drew a gun and, "He told the man, 'Stop, or I'm going to shoot! And if you run, I'm going to kill you.'" Police say the heroic man held the suspect until they arrived; however, he left before anyone got his name. The victim was listed in good condition at the hospital. The Clarion-Ledger - Jackson, MS

Quick Thinking 75 Year Old Woman Scares Off Intruders

Two masked men apparently thought they could prey on an elderly couple, but Alif "Betty" Feaster-Weeder's quick thinking prevented their offensive. The 75 year-old woman was lying on a couch reading when the men entered the home. One man asked, "Where's your money?" twice before she understood the seriousness of the situation. The woman yelled for her husband, asleep in an adjoining room, to get his gun. The mere suggestion of the firearm sent the intruders running before the husband could respond. Two Brothers Thwart Road Rage Incident

Police say two brave brothers with concealed-carry permits quashed an apparent road-rage incident. It began when a man was rear-ended and started yelling at the occupants of the other car. The argument escalated until he began shooting a gun into the air. At that point, passerby Paul and William Webber saw the man and quickly did a u-turn. The Webbers unholstered their guns, demanded the man put his hands in the air and held him for police. "If you see people doing wrong and especially putting lives at danger," said William Webber, 23, "it's pretty clear what you have to do." Memphis police Sgt. Robert Tutt called the brother's actions, "Very responsible, very restrained." The Commercial Appeal - Memphis, TN

Homeowner Arms Himself Against Three Burglars

According to authorities, a homeowner armed himself and called 9-1-1 to report several males ringing his doorbell incessantly. While the homeowner talked to a dispatcher, the men hopped a gate and entered the backyard where they tried to enter the residence through a back window. The homeowner fired several shots, killing one of the suspects. The other men fled, and one was arrested shortly thereafter. At least one neighbor said he no longer felt as safe in his home, and he intends to make sure he's better fortified against criminal assault. "That makes me want to buy a gun now," he said. "I should buy one to defend my family. You have to be safe." Summerlin News - Henderson, NV
